The 2010 season is off and running.Our Club has already achieved some excellent results and our players are doing what they love – playing hockey.

I have stepped in as Club President as the previous President was unable to continue in the role due to work commitments.

It is an honour to take on this role and it is really pleasing to see that a vibrant and well functioning committee has already got the 2010 season well on its way.

Seeing the committee members in action gives cause to reflect on the nature of our Club. We are a not-for-profit organisation which is administered entirely by volunteers who are players or family of players who contribute to the club for their love of the sport.

But many hands make light work. Some of our volunteers have taken on multiple roles which require a significant input. We need a team effort from everyone who plays the sport (or their families) to spread the load so that the burden is not left to a small few.

There are still positions open on the committee and I urge newcomers to consider joining the committee to get involved with and have a say in the future of the club. Please speak to Cheryle or myself if you are interested in assisting.

On a day to day basis we are always looking for support with the canteen. Please help out with staffing the canteen when you can. Make yourself known to Lou Larkin (Canteen Coordinator) or anyone assisting in the canteen to offer your help.
